Trigger Finger Release: Are Sutures Requiring Removal Necessary?

چکیده
PurposeThere is no consensus regarding optimal closure for trigger finger release (TFR) surgery. The purpose of this study was to compare the number postoperative visits and complications following TFR with nonabsorbable sutures versus those absorbable skin glue. hypothesis that wound glue will result in fewer visits, while having similar complication rates as sutures.MethodsA retrospective review identified all patients undergoing open over a 3-year period performed by two hand surgery fellowship–trained surgeons who adhered an identical surgical protocol except incisional closure. Patients were divided into groups: control group 4-0 monofilament requiring removal (“suture” group) buried not well (“glue” group). data collected included age, sex, complications, infections, antibiotic use, prescribed therapy, hospital admission, reoperation.ResultsA total 305 surgeries 278 study, 155 digits “suture” 150 “glue” group. Percutaneous release of trigger finger.
PURPOSE To evaluate the condition of the tendons and neurovascular bundles after percutaneous release for trigger finger of the middle, ring, and little fingers. METHODS 30 women and 13 men aged 20 to 55 (mean, 40) years underwent percutaneous release of the A1 pulley using a 18-gauge needle for 43 trigger fingers of the middle, ring, or little finger unresponsive to conservative treatment. 1...

Few studies have examined the rate of complications in trigger finger release. The objective of this study was to retrospectively review the complications documented for a cohort of patients who received open trigger finger releases. METHODS We conducted a r...

Another technique used for treatment of trigger finger is percutaneous release. This technique offers the benefi...
